There was a great article in the Statesman today about the Leadership Salem program. It was "Community Resource Day" yesterday, the goal being to connect people to non-profit organizations, raise awareness of the programs that are here in our area, and hopefully help people find a place where they would like to volunteer. Kudos to day chair Matt Lokan and the entire team for all their work in putting on a great program day.

Oregon is ranked #20 in identity theft crime (which is actually much better than we used to be - we used to be #7).
Most people don't even know it's happened until something big happens. I.D. theft is also linked to meth use, which is part of the reason we are ranked this high.
Diane Childs from the Department of Consumer and Business Services was here for the Build Your Business seminar this morning to talk about the new I.D. theft laws that will be coming into effect in January.
