The City of Salem will move through a preservation process for the Union Street railroad bridge which opened as a pedestrian and bicycle bridge earlier in 2009. The City of Salem has secured funding through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) which will result in an estimated 49 jobs, according to City staff.
