I had the opportunity to share at Keizer Chamber of Commerce's monthly luncheon today the commitment of our business partners through Ready to Learn Ready to Work. We have so many wonderful folks who support Ready to Learn Ready to Work! Great examples today are Alan Alexander of the Salem Airport and Gwen & Jim Graham of Graham Aviation. They both provided tours of their facilities and insight into the various careers in aviation and airport managerment. The student's were from McKay High, had ridden Cherriots over and thoroughly enjoyed the time.

Congrats to Tony Thiesen & the SHOW-BIZ yard sign team! I left the chamber as they were gearing up to assemble yard signs. When I was headed back to the chamber an hour later I saw the bright orange SHOW-BIZ signs at businesses all down Market Street!

No idea-but something similar happened to my car when we pulled it out of the garage, parked it to wash it & pulled it back in. The 'levelers?' were out of wack. Had to treat it like a dead battery. Glad you are here to help us Harold!

Thank you to all of you who supported our youth by participating in JIFFY on Thursday! We had over 100 interviewers provide mock interviews to over 600 Salem-Keizer high school students! The students received valuable feedback with each interview; and broadened their understanding of expectations of employers. There were 34 businesses and post-secondary training opportunity representatives at the fair that students could visit with and get information-plus we held the event at Salem Conference C…

Tim spoke to our Rotary Club yesterday about social networking and all the tools out their for people to access to enhance their professional and personal networks. There is a wide range of web-based social networking knowledge within our club, from zero to folks that are very active, and he provided resources, tools and suggestions for everyone. -Thanks Tim!
