Have you seen the new Kroc Community Center! If you haven't, this is one amazing place. The Salem Chamber Greeters met there on Friday morning for a networking opportunity and a chance to get a glimpse of the new center. We are very fortunate to have a facility like this in our community. I was only able to view a small portion of the facility but what I did see was impressive.

On the evening of September 14, 2009 I attended the Salem City Council session as a part of Leadership Salem's community adventure series. The Council meeting started at 6:30, in actuality, there were a total of three separate meetings held on this evening. The Salem Housing Authority, the Urban Renewal Agency and finally the City Council meeting. At the beginning of the City Council meeting Mayor Janet Taylor took an opportunity to read four important proclamations.

I had the opportunity to attend the Salem Health 2020 Community Forum last night, I know this wasn't on our list for community adventures, but after attending, I thought it probably could have been. The purpose of this event was to solicit input from a group of diverse community leaders to assist the Salem Hospital in strategic planning for the next ten years.
